Athletic Pre-Participation Requirements

7th Grade Football Team; There will be a celebration of your undefeated football season, in the middle school lunch room on Wed. December 14th. We will meet from 5:00-7:00PM. Families are invited.  

Thanks for a great season! It was our pleasure to work with the young men that came out for football this year. We are looking forward to see all their accomplishments in the years to come.                                                                

At the May 12, 2011 School Board meeting, the Board of School Directors approved the following fee schedules for the 2011-2012 school year:

Interscholastic athletics and non-academic, competitive activities
Fred S. Engle Middle School                    $125.00 per year/per participant

Student clubs, activities and intramural programs with a district paid advisor
Fred S. Engle Middle School                    $25.00 per year/per participant covers any/all clubs

Football will start for 8th grade players on Wednesday, August 17th from 4:00-6:00 PM at the PLE football practice field. If you have turned in your PIAA Physical packet by that date, to the Fred S. Engle Middle School office, you will be signed up and ready to practice on that date. Football will start for 7th grade players on Monday, August 22nd. 7th Grade players must also have their PIAA Physical packet turned into the Fred S. Engle Middle School office by that date in order to start practice and be signed up for the football team. Please check the calendar below for other important dates. 

On the May 12th Avon Grove School board meeting, $125.00 athletic participation fee was passed for the Fred S. Engle Middle School. In order to stay on the football team and receive game equipment, each player must pay this fee by a check payable to Fred S. Engle. These checks must be taken and turned in to the main office at the Fred S. Engle Middle School. This is a one time fee and athletes can participate in any other sports throughout the 2011-2012 school year without paying another fee.

Dr. Snopkowski has informed me that the $125.00 athletic participation fee will be collected on August 31st during the last period of the day. We will talk more about this during the parent meeting on Friday, August 26th from 5:00-6:00. Please try to be there for that meeting.

Players should come to the first practice in shorts, t-shirt, socks, and cleats. Throw the football, do some push-ups, and do some running to prepare for these dates. See you in August!
